This week Foam Engineers Limited hosted a joint meeting at our offices in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire between the aircraft manufacturer Airbus and PPG Industries, the world’s leading coatings and specialty products and services company.
The three delegates from Airbus were invited from their operations in Toulouse in Southern France and PPG Industries were represented by senior personnel from their UK manufacturing facility. Representing Foam Engineers Limited was James Wiles (Managing Director), Michael Clare (New Business Development Manager) and David Cordell (Production Engineer).
The day began by providing Airbus with a tour of our works. The array of machining processes was explained followed by a presentation of the varied technical Polyurethane and Polyethylene foams converted on site.
Foam Engineers Limited was chosen to partner PPG and Airbus because of our close association with Crest Foam Industries Incorporated in New Jersey, USA. Foam Engineers Limited are the premier UK and European stockists and specialist converter of Crest Foam’s MIL-B-83054B and MIL-F-87260A range of SafeCrest® explosion suppressant foams. With over 25 years’ experience as a SafeCrest® converter and fabricator Foam Engineers Limited is the perfect solution provider to the technical foam market.
Michael Clare concludes:
“It was an educational day for all parties. The day was full of thoughtful discussions resulting in Foam Engineers conceiving a new machining process to meet the requirements of Airbus’ designs. We are really proud to be associated with Airbus and PPG Industries and look forward to the challenges that lay ahead.”
