About Us
Foam Engineers is an Independently family run company that has succeeded in business for more than 75 years.Being perceived as a leader in the technical foam market place for this length of time can only come from a constant appraisal of our customer’s requirements, and reacting to their changing needs. Demands have changed over the years and it is due, in no small part, to the team spirit within the company, as well as support from our long established suppliers which has enabled the company to keep one step ahead of its competition.
OUR STRENGTH
We consider our strength as being truly Independent - which means we are able to offer our customers the widest range of competitive foam materials available, as well the most comprehensive machinery and technology for foam converting assembled under one roof.
TOTAL CUSTOMER CARE
The prime concern in our business is "Total CustomerCare" which is why we have a dedicated CustomerCare department. This department, as with all our departmental disciplines, is connected with a sophisticated IT network in which we continually update and invest as more advanced features become available. This gives us the ability to track and control any order in our system at any time, day or night.
SALES
Close relationships with our Customers are important as we have a number of key accounts that have been with us since our first days of cutting foam. Our Sales department, not only linked with the internal IT system, also enjoys the benefits of having a full staff of trained Engineers on the road who are able to answer the most demanding of questions. In support, our Sales office can offer design and prototype facilities supported by quick turn around on customer quotations - a vital service in customer support.
PRODUCTION
Foam Engineers offers a comprehensive range of foam converting machinery under one roof. The following production processes are carried out: fine tolerance slitting, CNC contour cutting, die-cutting and band-knifing, along with intricate assembly processes including hot air welding and double-sided adhesive backing. Complex shapes are manufactured using thermoforming techniques and specialized machinery. All manufacturing processes are contained within our 40,000 ft2 factory which is protected by a full fire proof sprinkler system.
History
Established in 1928, our Company throughout its long history has retained the pioneering innovative approach of the original founder, Mr Charles Wright.
Based in the traditional home of Britain's furniture industry, High Wycombe, apart for a break during the Second World War, our early years were dedicated to manufacturing metallic springs for seating and beds.
The advantages of revolutionary new plastics and foams were quickly recognised and put to good use, leading to the total phase out of the conventional wire spring production by the 1960's. Foam Engineers have lead the way in product development in the wider applications of engineered foam, always willing to meet industries exacting technical specification challenges.
